UNDERSTANDING DEMENTIA
We provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 dementia training.
MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS

DEMENTIA ENVIRONMENT AUDIT
We will undertake an environmental audit to look at the suitability for people who have dementia.
We will produce a report and an action plan with recommendations of how the environment could be maintained and improved.

Activity Toolkit for Care Homes – NICE accredited tool kit
We can provide training on how to engage and promote activity in your care home setting including;
● This is me – Personal profiling, using the tool kit, interactive training, choosing activities, level of concentration, level of cognition, sensory
challenges
● Activity information and ideas for residents, families and carers, interest checklist, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, longer activity ideas
COGNITIVE STIMULATION THERAPY (CST)
CST is an evidence based brief treatment for people with mild to moderate dementia.
We offer group CST sessions which involves 14 or more sessions of themed activities.
POOL ACTIVITY LEVEL (PAL)
Training on the theory and use of the Pool Activity Level within your setting. The Pool Activity Level (PAL) instrument is widely used as the framework for providing activity-based care for people with cognitive impairments, including dementia.
The instrument is recommended for daily living skills training and activity planning in the National Institute for Clinical Excellence Clinical Guidelines for Dementia (NICE 2006), and has been proven valid and reliable by a recent research study.
